Hi, I’m Ross.

I’m a Coventry-based Recording, Mixing and Mastering Engineer. I specialise in R&B, Jazz, Neo Soul, and I love working closely with vocalists. I play guitar and keys, and vocal arranging is the most fun thing in the world to me.

I went to uni at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and got involved into the Birmingham Jazz scene by recording as many Jazz students as possible, from there I completely fell in love with recording, mixing, the entire process really.

Since 2023 I’ve been working as an Engineer at Powerhouse Studios, where I’ve really felt a part of the Coventry music scene. I’m a part of a collective called maphia, we put on our own events and community is massively important to me.

I have a complete no AI policy, creating art is so important to me and if we take the soul out of music, what’s left to enjoy?

Being Present

If you work with me, you get my undivided attention. I believe that every idea is worth exploring and you definitely won’t see me anywhere near my phone. I’m a big believer in the value of creating and I’m lucky that I get to do what I love for a living, so how could I not give it 100%?

The details

I believe that every production choice should serve the idea of the song. I use templates to speed up my workflow, but none of my projects look the same. You won’t catch me using the same vocal chain twice, everyone’s voice is different, each song conveys a different emotion and good production amplifies that.
